100% Renewable Energy

To fight pollution and prevent the worst impacts of global warming, we’re working to repower our campuses, communities and the country with 100 percent renewable energy.

Affordable Higher Education

A college degree is practically a necessity these days, not only for the individual student, but for the economic and social health of the country. But as states cut budgets, and grant aid has diminished, students are relying on loans to pay for college.

Democracy for the People

The Student PIRGs are pushing back against big money in our elections and working to institute a system of small donor incentive programs, to amplify the voices of the American people over corporations, Super PACs and the super wealthy.

Hunger and Homelessness

We know we can live in a world where everyone has a roof over their head, enough food to eat and access to clean drinking water. Unfortunately, despite some advances we’re far from this vision.

Make Textbooks Affordable

To ensure that every student has access to the high-quality educational materials they need, we’re pushing campuses to switch to free, open textbooks.

New Voters Project

Young people are the largest and most diverse group of potential voters in the country. We’re making sure they register to vote and get to the polls to make their voices heard.

Racial Justice

Racial justice is a public interest issue. Black Lives Matter. Injustice against our Black, Indigenous, and neighbors of color is a public interest issue. Issues such as climate change, and the high cost of college disproportionately affects Black, Indigenous, and communities of color.

Save the Bees

We rely on bees to pollinate our food. Yet we’re allowing the use of bee-killing pesticides to drive them toward extinction. How does that make any sense? We’re calling on the EPA to ban these toxic pesticides.

Stop the Overuse of Antibiotics

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that at least 23,000 Americans die every year from antibiotic-resistant bacteria, and warns that the widespread overuse of antibiotics on factory farms is putting our health at risk. We’re calling on the top restaurant chains to commit to serving meat raised without anitbiotics.
